This is my attempt at creating a cohesive Orion language. It uses almost all of the canon (including beta canon) Orion that exists. But that’s not very much, so the rest is my creation. I’ve tried to stay consistent with the canon vocabulary and sounds.
We know that there are a number of Orion languages, so some of the canon words may belong to other Orion dialects. The one I am attempting to create is low Orion, spina leiv kolari, the language of traders, contractors, and other low-status Orions on the fringes of the former empire.
I’ll be gradually sharing my grammar, vocabulary, lessons, and sample texts here. My intention is to make Orion available for fic writers, roleplayers, and conlangers. Feel free to use my work without attribution. If you create words of your own, please use the contact form to submit them to the dictionary.
